While this year looks a little different, we’re ready to shake things up and get creative without losing out on those special holiday traditions. What better way to spark joy and keep the holiday spirit alive than by having a TCHO Cookie Exchange (virtually of course)?!
Here’s the plan: we’ll be posting recipes the first 12 days of December to inspire you to keep those ovens fired up throughout the holidays. We’d love for you, your loved ones, friends, kids...anyone, to participate in our friendly cookie exchange competition. This competition is not limited to cookies, we want you to feel inspired by baking recipes you would normally make and bring to a cookie exchange party. Help us get the word out by baking your own cookie (brownie/bar/whatever floats your boat!) from your favorite or original recipe and posting to your Instagram feed, blog, or Instagram Stories.
- Post a photo of your holiday treat and tag @tchochocolate. Use the hashtag #TCHOcookieexchange. Recipes should be homemade and include TCHO Chocolate.
- Your holiday recipe (ingredients and measurements) should be listed in the caption, citing which TCHO chocolate you used in your recipe. The recipe should make at least 1 dozen cookies/treats.
- Post before December 10th!
The winner of the TCHO Cookie Exchange competition will be featured on our Instagram page on December 13th and on our Recipes page on TCHO.com. There will be a prize (chocolate, of course) for our favorite recipes - judged by TCHO Pro Ethel Koh!
We hope this TCHO Cookie Exchange will inspire you to get creative in the kitchen, develop new recipes, or simply #treatTCHOself and your friends and family.
Here are some of our favorite TCHO recipes to start things off:
Extra Dark Oatmeal Cookies
Milk and cookies, anyone?! These cookies are chewy with a hint of caramelized butter, sweet bursts of cranberries, and crunchy bits of toasted pistachios.
Chocolate Biscotti with Orange, Ginger + Walnuts
These twice baked cookies will make your house smell like holiday cheer right out of the oven and they're even better dipped in your favorite toasty beverage. 😉
Chocolate Chai Truffles
These truffles will melt in your hands before you can get them in your mouth, so move quickly! The warm chai spices mixed with fudgy dark chocolate are for anyone who enjoys sipping on tea and nibbling on chocolate.
Gozu’s Chocolate Chunk Cookies
We're thrilled to be working with Pastry Chef Ethel Koh for our TCHO Pro Initiative, at Gozu in San Francisco. Gozu is where these soft and delicious cookies made with Wagyu tallow were born. These cookies are delicious straight out of the oven and melt in your mouth within seconds...
Russell calls this his East meets West recipe. At his restaurant, they use miso from Pennsylvania, flour from New York, Heckler sugar, Wholesome turbinado sugar for texture, chocolate from TCHO, and malt flaky sea salt on top.
Chocolate Peppermint Shortbread Cookies
This easy peppermint shortbread recipe is perfect for a holiday cookie tray. They are sweet, buttery, light, and have a touch of peppermint crunch with subtle cocoa notes. A holiday favorite and delicious dipped in a peppermint mocha!
Extra Dark Chocolate Caramels with Sea Salt
Buttery, caramely, chocolatey….need we say more? This recipe is made with our 81% Extra Dark chocolate that helps balance out the sweetness in traditional chewy caramels. The added salt on top will have you coming back for seconds...
Brownie Cookies with Salted Caramel Crème
Brownies in general are a baker's best friend. Fill ‘em with a caramel creme, and they’ll be gone before you finish making them! We recommend making the full two dozen recipe, you’re definitely going to want the extras....
Chocolate Peanut Butter Bombs
Made by Julie Reyes of @plantmurderess
These bombs taste like a peanut butter filled brownie - delicious and you'll never know they were made with vegan and plant based ingredients.
Handmade Peppermint Bark
This traditional treat is a staple during the holidays. If you enjoy refreshing peppermint mixed with dark chocolate, this recipe is for you! The best part? It's super easy to make at home.
Gluten-Free Cocoa Sablé Cookies with Cacao Nibs
These cookies are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. There is nothing more satisfying than dipping these sable cookies into a bowl of melted chocolate and sprinkling them with a dash of salt. Your friends will thank you.
Plant-Based English Toffee
If you're up to trying something new and breaking old traditions, we recommend starting with this recipe. This version of English Toffee is vegan and plant-based made with cashew butter, maple syrup, oat milk, and coconut sugar. It’s just as crunchy and packed with a ton of rich flavors!
With that, we send you off to your kitchens to whip up some tried and true recipes or new innovations. We can’t wait to see what you come up with! And stay tuned, we’ll announce the winner of the TCHO Cookie Exchange on December 13th!
